Clear Skin Detox Tips

Any time is a good time to start enjoying clearer skin. A clear skin detox can help clear up skin from both the inside and the outside. This works well because skin problems tend to result from hormones and bacteria inside the body and skin conditions on the outside.

1. Cut out or vastly reduce consumption of refined sugar. Sugar causes insulin spikes and this promotes inflammation inside the body, which can also show up on the skin. In the long run, this inflammation can also promote wrinkles, so avoiding sugar should also keep skin looking younger for much longer.

2. Enjoy a glass of water with a squirt of lemon each morning. This helps balance the pH level in the body so it can reduce inflammation. It also helps give a boost to the body's metabolism, so it can help purge water weight and toxins. Lemon juice could also be added to warm herbal or regular tea in the morning to help.

3. Eat plenty of fresh produce for snacks and meals. Celery, carrots, and cucumbers are really good for the skin and the rest of the body. It's fine to enjoy these veggies with some healthy dips. Good examples are almond butter, peanut butter, and hummus. Just be aware that some of these dips contain hidden sugar, so check the ingredients on the label.

4. People who suffer from frequent skin breakouts should be wary of soy and foods that contain soy. This ingredient can actually encourage breakouts because it contains phytoestrogens, which can be used inside the body as a hormone.

5. People who enjoy coffee need to be careful that they don't get dehydrated. Coffee acts as a diuretic. There's no reason to eliminate coffee, but it might help to alternate between coffee, pure water, or even green tea.

Certain oils help keep skin clear. This might sound odd because skin oils can trap bacteria within pores. However, coconut oil can be applied to clean skin to actually serve as a way to pull bacteria out of the skin. At the same time, swishing a bit of coconut oil around in the mouth can help reduce the kind of oral bacteria that causes decay.

Of course, it helps to stay clean and avoid contaminants. People who are prone to skin problems should purchase soap that doesn't clog pores. Typically, soap should get rinsed off with warm water. A bit of steam near (not on) the face can also help to open up pores. One suggestion is to open the dishwasher to let the steam out.

Try The Pure Water Detox

Finally, one of the best detox remedies is to simply drink pure water during the day. The amount of water depends upon body weight and climate, of course. However, people who feel thirsty during the course of a day are probably not drinking enough water.
