Clear Skin Tips For Any Adult

By Danny Swanger

Getting clear skin is often seen as a concern of pre-teens and teenagers. However, the truth is that many adults must grapple with acne and other skin imperfections as well, not only on the face but on the back and other areas of the body. We have gathered some easy clear skin tips that will be helpful for anyone who is trying to get a smoother, brighter complexion.

Drink Enough Clean Water

Most of the human body is made of water. In fact, every cell in the body has water. Therefore, when someone is dehydrated, the cells are not able to function as well. That means that oils, bacteria and other toxins that lead to bad skin are not flushed out properly. By drinking more water, the skin is able to regenerate healthy cells and get rid of toxins more easily.

How much water should someone have each day? A good formula to stick with is drinking half of one's body weight in ounces of water each day. For instance, if someone weighs 160 pounds, 80 oz. of water should be sufficient. Of course, drinking more water on hot days or days when your physical activity has increased.

Cut Down on Sugars and Fats

Food is fuel for everyone's body. It delivers nutrients to the cells so that the body can work properly. What goes into the body will generally show up on the skin. Someone who eats a lot of junk food laden with sugar and fat is likely to have more acne-ridden skin than anyone who eats a diet that is high in vegetables, fruits and lean meats. You will be able to see once you cut down on sugars and fats that your skin will start to clear up.

It is also important to note that allergies to different foods might also cause acne. For instance, someone who eats a good diet may still break out when they eat dairy products such as milk and cheese. A lactose allergy might present that way, so a conversation with a doctor or dermatologist is a good idea.

Try Vitamin Supplements

There is some evidence that supplementation with specific vitamins can be helpful for anyone attempting to clear their skin up. For example, pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B5, has helped many people to get rid of acne and other skin perfections.

When trying supplements, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor first. Some supplements could affect the ability of other medications to work, while other supplements can render certain medications useless. Side effects should also be considered. Your doctor will be able to advise which supplements are safe for you.

A better complexion awaits anyone willing to give these clear skin tips a try. Use this advice to begin making your skin look better than ever.
